Host Guide
A practical guide for Carsan Hosts to understand the platform, service standards, operations, payouts, requirements, and fleet growth.
What is Carsan?
Carsan is a car-sharing platform that connects car owners with hosts who help them to earn passive income with their vehicles and hosts earn money without owning the cars.
How Carsan works for Hosts
As a Carsan Host, you manage vehicles that belong to other owners and earn a share of the income those vehicles generate. You can also list your own vehicles on Carsan, as long as you have 100% ownership and hold the title in your name.
Who does what:
- Carsan: bookings, pricing tools, support, platform, payouts.
- Host: vehicle handoffs, cleaning, maintenance and repairs, communication on the ground.
How Carsan works for Owners
Car owners list their vehicles with Carsan and either bring them to a Host or have a Host pick them up. Owners then earn a percentage of the rental revenue as passive income, while the Host and Carsan handle operations.
How Carsan is different from Traditional Rentals
The main difference between traditional car rental companies and Carsan is that all vehicles on Carsan are owned by individual car owners; Carsan does not own any vehicles.
The main difference between other car-sharing platforms and Carsan is that, with Carsan, car owners earn truly passive income and do not have to do any of the day-to-day work to earn it. Hosts and Carsan handle operations, while owners simply collect their share of the revenue.
Hosts build a real business: You are not just a casual host with one car; you manage fleets of multiple vehicles on behalf of owners and earn from every trip.
Owners are hands-off: Owners do not meet guests, clean cars, or manage keys—Hosts do. That’s why owners stay long-term and keep adding more cars.
Aligned incentives: The more cars you successfully manage and keep booked, the more money both you and the owners make.
Carsan Mission & Vision
Carsan Mission
To help people earn more from their cars and to give drivers seamless, affordable access to vehicles - through a simple, transparent, and host-first car-sharing platform.
Carsan Vision
To make car sharing the primary way people access cars - more profitable for owners, more affordable for drivers, and more efficient than traditional car ownership.
We believe cars should work for people, not sit idle.
By empowering individual hosts instead of large, inefficient corporations, Carsan turns cars into productive assets and creates a more flexible, human-centered mobility ecosystem.
Core Principles
Customer-Obsessed Service
Every trip is a reflection of the host and Carsan. We communicate clearly, respond quickly, and always aim to leave the guest feeling supported and taken care of.
Host-First Platform
We exist to make hosting simple, profitable, and sustainable for our hosts over the long term.
Cars Should Work, Not Sit Idle
A parked car is a wasted asset. We help turn cars into productive, income-generating vehicles while keeping them safe and well-maintained.
Transparency and Fairness
We keep pricing, payouts, and policies simple and clear, so hosts and guests always understand how money flows and what to expect.
Human-Centered, Tech-Powered
Technology should amplify people, not replace them. We use data and automation to remove friction while keeping human judgment and empathy at the center of every trip.
Hosting Service Standards
At Carsan, every host is a service business. Our standards exist to make every trip predictable, professional, and stress-free for guests. Hosts are expected to follow these standards on every booking, with every driver, every time.
Customer-First Mindset
We treat every guest with respect, patience, and professionalism, regardless of the situation.
We always look for a solution that keeps the guest safe, informed, and satisfied — even when it requires extra effort from the host. When in doubt, we choose the option that protects the guest experience and the long-term trust in Carsan.
Communication Standards
Clear, fast communication is a core part of great hosting.
Response time
Hosts should respond to guest or Carsan messages as quickly as possible and aim to reply within a short, reasonable window before and during each trip.
Tone
Always keep messages polite, calm, and professional — never rude, emotional, or confrontational, even if the guest is stressed or upset.
Proactive updates
If something changes (delay, location change, issue with the car), the host informs Carsan and guest immediately.
Cleanliness & Vehicle Condition Standards
Every car on Carsan must be perfectly ready for a guest — not “just okay”.
Interior
The car must be clean, free of trash and foreign objects, strong odors, and visible dirt. Seats, floor mats, and trunk should be tidy and presentable.
Exterior
The car should be reasonably clean on the outside, with windows and mirrors clear enough for safe driving and good photos.
Maintenance
No active warning lights that impact safety, no known mechanical issues that could strand the guest, and all required maintenance kept up to date.
Fuel/Charge & range
The car must be delivered with at least the quarter fuel level or charge level.
Safety equipment
Lights, brakes, tires, wipers, and seat belts must be in good working condition.
Operational Standards
Reliable operations are what separate professional hosts from everyone else.
On-time check-in and check-out
Hosts must respect agreed pick-up and return times, or proactively communicate any changes as early as possible.
Clear handoff process
The process for getting and returning the car (in-person or remote) must be simple, clearly explained, and consistent with what was promised in the listing.
Photo documentation
Before and after each trip, hosts capture clear photos of the car’s exterior, interior, odometer, fuel/charge level, and any existing damage. This protects both the host and the guest.
Issue handling
If a problem occurs (delay, damage, breakdown, incorrect fuel/charge, etc.), the host follows Carsan procedures, keeps the guest informed, and cooperates fully with support.
Policy compliance
Hosts follow all Carsan rules, local laws, including restrictions on vehicle use and eligibility.
Most Profitable Cars & Fleet Strategy
Most Profitable Cars
The most profitable vehicles for hosts are usually the ones that can sustain a higher daily rate while still maintaining strong demand.
Cars that are attractive to commuter guests tend to be booked for longer periods and extended trips, which increases occupancy and boosts overall profitability per vehicle.
Most Profitable Cars for Owners
For owners, the most profitable vehicles are typically cars that were purchased in cash and have already absorbed most of their depreciation.
It’s also critical to consider maintenance and repair costs: reliable models from brands like Tesla, Toyota, Honda, etc. are often the best options, because they combine strong demand with lower running costs, making them ideal to buy and list on Carsan.
Fleet Strategy
To achieve maximum profit, your fleet needs to be balanced.
You should maintain a good variety of vehicles and focus on the most popular models and classes in your area.
Popular models and classes may vary depending on your location. For example, 7-seaters tend to be more popular near airports, commuter cars are in higher demand in urban areas, and luxury vehicles perform better around upscale neighborhoods.
In most cases, the optimal fleet size per location ranges between 30 and 120 vehicles. Some areas cannot profitably support more than 30–40 cars without lowering profitability per vehicle, while airports and dense, high-demand urban zones can often support up to 120 vehicles or more.

Host Growth and Success
You grow your business by increasing the number of vehicles in your fleet and keeping those vehicles consistently booked.
Carsan provides you with new vehicles from owners every month, as well as bookings for those vehicles. However, there are powerful ways you can personally grow your fleet and bookings by encouraging people around you to join your fleet as car owners and inviting others to rent your cars through Carsan.
Here are two effective ways to do it:
Social Media Content
You can create content on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and X to promote your Carsan business.
Suggested content ideas:
- “Rent a car from me on Carsan.”
- “Earn passive income from your car.”
- “Invest in cars and earn money hassle-free.”
The more creative and consistent you are with your content, the faster and bigger results you will achieve.
This is one of the best ways to earn more with Carsan and become a successful Host.
Word of Mouth
Your community is your power.
By sharing your Carsan journey with friends, family, colleagues, and people in your local community, you will find people who are interested in:
- Listing their vehicles with you on Carsan
- Buying cars for your fleet
- Supporting your business by renting your vehicles on Carsan
Personal recommendations build trust and often lead to high-quality, long-term relationships with both owners and guests.
